The FATFA Conference 2026 will be held in Canberra on the 27th-28th November. In this call for papers you are invited to submit a proposal for papers, workshops, and/or panels addressing the theme (un)Knowing and (un)Learning within any aspect of French language teaching, learning, or research.
In an era where knowledge, language, and identity are constantly being redefined, educators and researchers are challenged to examine not only what we know but also what we may
need to unlearn. The FATFA Conference 2026 theme of (un)Knowing and (un)Learning invites participants to explore how reflection, curiosity, indigenous ways of knowing and creative unlearning can reshape French language education in Australia and beyond. Across two days of presentations, workshops, and discussions we will question how teaching, learning, and research intersect in a changing world — one marked by curriculum expectations, multilingual realities and the emergence of new technologies and AI.
In addition, the conference registration fees are now available so that you can plan your attendance and participation with your schools and faculties.
The FATFA 2026 Conference will be hosted by the MLTAACT-French Section in partnership with FATFA (Federation of Associations of Teachers of French in Australia). Held conjointly with ASFS (Australian Society for French Studies) French Program in the School of Literature, Languages and Linguistics ANU (Australian National University).
