Volunteers' Service Ceremony

Celebrating you, our wonderful Volunteers! “Volunteers Matter!” 💛

More than 140 incredible educators were recognised at Educators SA’s sixth Volunteers’ Service Ceremony, held during National Volunteer Week at the beautiful Yitpi Yartapuultiku Aboriginal Cultural Centre in Port Adelaide. The evening celebrated the passionate volunteers who give their time outside of school hours to support South Australia’s education community, from first-year volunteers right through to remarkable 40+ years of service milestones.

“Volunteering is all about legacy, about leaving something behind that is beyond your own self, and having a positive impact on those you engage with,” said Educators SA Chief Executive Lisa-Jane O’Connor. The night also saw Educators Care proudly announce Operation Flinders as its 2026 charity partner and presented their representative with an oversized cheque for $1042 years of service combined by our association volunteers!

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional owners throughout South Australia and we pay respect to the custodians of the lands on which we live and learn. We respect their spiritual relationship with Country and acknowledge that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to those living today and we do so in the spirit of reconciliation.
