Women’s Studies Teachers Association

The Women’s Studies Teachers Association is a non-profit association brought together by Women’s Studies teachers who are here to act as an advisory body to educational and other authorities regarding the teaching of Stage 1 and 2 SACE Women’s Studies and to develop the curriculum and to promote the teachings of Women’s Studies and Gender Studies in other educational institutions and the wider community.

Our objective is to represent with respect the teaching of Women and Gender Studies to appropriate bodies which include government, education authorities, business organisations and wider communities required. We also aim to liaise with other state and national associations to support a good teaching practice.

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional owners throughout South Australia and we pay respect to the custodians of the lands on which we live and learn. We respect their spiritual relationship with Country and acknowledge that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to those living today and we do so in the spirit of reconciliation.
