South Australian English Teachers Association

The South Australian English Teachers Association (SAETA) is the professional association of South Australian English Teachers. We serve our members in advocacy and professional development roles in these times of rapid change.

Like all English teachers associations in Australia, we are affiliated to AATE, the Australian Association for the Teaching of English, which takes on these roles in the federal arena.

Membership

We know best what it is like to be an English teacher and with your support, we aim to work for improvement in our conditions. We keep you informed about the latest theoretical and practical ideas for English teachers in our journals and we provide, with ALEA, much of the professional development for English teachers in South Australia. So, join with your fellow English teachers, keep abreast of the times and make our voice heard.

Membership entitles you to the following:

  • Electronic copies of Opinion (The journal and newsletter of the association)
  • Three copies of English in Australia (The journal of the AATE)
  • Reduced admission to Professional Development activities
  • Resources at discount prices
  • Professional support

Acknowledgement of Country

We acknowledge the traditional owners throughout South Australia and we pay respect to the custodians of the lands on which we live and learn. We respect their spiritual relationship with Country and acknowledge that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to those living today and we do so in the spirit of reconciliation.
