Would you like to know more about how “calculating” develops as a key idea within Australian Curriculum? Where does written calculation fit? Technological calculation?
Do you as the educator have a deep understanding of how these concepts work and how to teach them in a way that leads to deep understanding for ALL?
This session is designed to support educators to:
– Further develop their own understanding and confidence with the range of calculating skills children need and the way in which Australian Curriculum refers to Calculating.
– Look at the ACM sequence for teaching Calculating and how it can be effectively implemented
– Exploring a wide range of practical strategies, resources and activities that can be targeted to meet the specific needs of each learning point within the Calculating learning sequence
This session addresses the following focus areas of the Australian Professional Learning Standards for Teachers: 2.1, 6.2, 7.4
