Leveraging Opportunities for Literacy in Early Years from the COVID-19 Situation

Early Childhood Australia, South Australia (ECASA), Early Childhood Organisation of South Australia (EChO) and Preschool Directors Association of South Australia (PDAoSA) are excited to announce a collaborative professional learning project with funding from Educators SA.
This project has a literacy focus, and seeks to bring the early childhood field together to share and develop current holistic approaches to literacy. The challenges of the COVID-19 situation also provide opportunities to reflect together on our literacy practices.
The focus on literacy improvement in early childhood can feel unrelenting – and the recent demands on educators in the COVID-19 context really brought this to the fore. This free, online session is a chance to talk about what this was like and to reflect on the issues raised for you during this time. In this discussion, we will consider the shared challenges and your suggestions to assist in planning relevant presentations for future sessions.
