SA HALT Network: Peer Observation to Improve Practice (Part 3) Using the Classroom Practice Continuum for Teacher Growth

Date:
Time
8 - 9pm
Location
Online

Following the previous 2 classroom observation sessions part 3 concentrates on using the classroom practice continuum to support teachers to set goals and improve their practice. It will also look at how to sue this more widely than with individual teachers (year level, faculty, sub school)

Led by Rachael Richards and Liz Gary-Smith, this session will explore how peer observation can move beyond compliance and become a meaningful process for professional growth.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Establish safe and supportive peer observation structure
  • Focus observations on impact rather than judgement
  • Use reflective conversations to deepen professional learning
  • Build collective efficacy through collaborative practice

This session is ideal for teachers, instructional leaders, and school teams seeking practical strategies to embed high-impact peer observation in their context.

Audience: Teachers and school leaders

Focus: Practical strategies, reflection tools, and implementation guidance
