ALEA SA is proud to present an interactive session with Karen Inwood for early years and primary educators.

A picture book is not just a book, it is a world shaped by roles, situations, mood, movement and tension. Using the Drama Elements, Laban Eight Working Actions and Drama-Based Pedagogies we can make books live! Drama incorporates artistic and creative processes to deepen and enhance learning experiences and as such, this workshop will offer a range of strategies with meaning-making as the core and motivator. Through dialogic, embodied and experiential action, we will learn to foster creative dispositions and imaginations. Drama processes can enhance children’s already rich imaginations by giving them permission to wonder what could be different/what might have been/what could be. This workshop promotes art-rich pedagogical practice.
