Discover the treasures of history at Government House Adelaide’s Open Day

Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia, and Mr Rod Bunten are pleased to welcome members of the public to explore Government House and its grounds at a special Open Day, held on Sunday, May 12.

Held in conjunction with South Australia’s History Festival, Government House Adelaide will be open from 10am to 2pm and guests will have the opportunity to view the public rooms of the oldest continuously occupied Government House in the country.

Members of the public can learn about the architectural features, historical artefacts, and daily operations of Government House, as well as explore a range of exhibits.

There will be a range of activities, including garden tours, live music, children’s quizzes, SAPOL Police Grey display and interaction, and food and drink vendors.

The Lions Club City of Adelaide will host a sausage sizzle and the ‘Grounds for Growth’ coffee van, operated by participants in Novita’s Transition to Work program, will be on hand to provide hot drinks and share information about their programs.

Admission to the Open Day is free, and all are welcome to attend.

Bookings are not required. For more information, please visit governor.sa.gov.au or contact Government House on (08) 8203 9800.
