With a wealth of experience in education, Warren Symonds has been a dedicated professional in the Department for Education in South Australia since 1987. His teaching journey encompasses diverse settings, ranging from Area Schools to large metropolitan institutions. Warren has served as the principal at two significant institutions, namely Mount Barker High School and Reynella East College, the latter being a comprehensive Preschool to Year 12 school.

Recognised for his outstanding contributions, Warren received the 2017 Australian Council for Educational Leaders (ACEL) SA Educational Leadership Medal, SA ACEL Fellowship award and the prestigious ACEL National Fellowship award. In 2020, he was honoured with the Commonwealth Bank National Teaching Fellow Award, further highlighting his commitment to excellence in education.

Beyond his roles in schools, Warren actively contributes to the education community. He is a valued member of the University of Adelaide School of Education Advisory Board and a director on the Educators SA Board. He has just retired as the Chairperson of the Positive Education Schools Association (PESA) national board. His multifaceted involvement reflects his dedication to shaping the educational landscape and fostering positive learning environments.
