Kate Ryan is a passionate advocate for early childhood education with a wealth of experience in teaching, leadership, and governance. As President of the Preschool Directors Association, she leads with a strong commitment to supporting educators and enhancing outcomes for children across South Australia. Her role sees her working closely with Educators SA on shared advocacy and sector-wide collaboration.

Kate has led complex integrated early childhood sites, facilitated training for educators, and contributed to state and national boards focused on education. She brings deep knowledge of early years curriculum and policy, a practical understanding of governance, and a dedication to ensuring diverse educator voices are heard.

On the Educators SA Board, Kate contributes a strong early childhood perspective, supporting strategic decisions and championing smaller associations. Her goal is to foster meaningful collaboration while maintaining each group’s unique identity.

Outside of work, Kate enjoys time with her two sons and four granddaughters and is currently learning Italian—adding a fun new challenge to her lifelong love of learning.
