Minister's Preschool Arts Awards 2024

Minister’s Preschool Arts Award

The Minister’s Preschool Arts Education Award will be presented for the first time in 2024. It is an award to the preschool itself and not an individual within the site.

The award acknowledges excellent practice in Arts education in a Government preschool in any one or combination of the Arts forms; dance, drama, media arts, music, and visual arts. This may include one of or a combination of the following:

  • Integrating Arts provocations into the preschool’s program
  • Integrating one or more Arts forms as a specific program
  • Collaborating with artists in the preschool’s program
  • Working as a preschool team to undertake professional learning in the Arts and put this new learning into practice.
  • Other great Arts ideas, practices or initiatives.

The successful preschool will receive a grant of $8000 to further develop and implement its Arts program.

This could include acquiring resources, undertaking staff professional learning, involving artists in the preschool, sharing their Arts practices with other preschools, engaging their community in the Arts, or other relevant professional activity that enhances their Arts program.

The Award funding is provided for expenditure during the 2025 calendar year.
