Welcome back to the 2022 education year and hope you had a good break!
COVID and Office Arrangements for January
Just when we thought things would be getting back to normal, along comes Omicron. Besides the personal impact on those who have had COVID, the beginning of this year will be very disrupted. We are waiting to see if preschools and school will commence as scheduled and we have already had to cancel or postpone some face-to-face events.
Our staff is having to work from home again as EDC is now a testing site. We have been informed that we can’t access EDC until the end of January but given that will be the peak period for Omicron, I suspect we will be working from home until later in February.
We are planning to continue all our regular services although photocopying will be difficult. If you are needing our support in any way, contact one of our team who will be happy to help you.
I have attached our home contact numbers; feel free to use these at any time. Just leave a message if you are ringing outside of normal working hours and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Staff News
We said farewell to Sonja who has moved to New Zealand for 12 months so her partner Michael can work at Dunedin Hospital. After completing 9 days of quarantine in Auckland, Sonja, Michael and Louise were able to travel to Dunedin and are currently looking for a house to rent. Sonja’s baby is due in mid-March so we will let you know when the newest member of the Educators SA family arrives.
EDC Bookings
EDC have cancelled all room bookings for January and this may extend into February. If you have any bookings at EDC during this period, you may wish to consider a backup venue or take your meeting online.
